Stadium Series

Happy Boxing Day!  Here's a Stadium Series concept.

2017 Stadium Series:
You might recognize the design of the Flyers jersey, as it's basically just a recoloured version of my "New Look" Flyers concept.  The Penguins jersey is based off of an old concept of mine as well, but that concept is from way back in 2013.

Also, I hope to get back to my NHL Double Series soon (I already have ideas for a couple of teams).

That is all!

Template Update

Hello!  I've made a slight change to my Combo template (which I'm now calling the Combo2 template).  The arms are now a couple of pixels shorter overall and a few pixels thicker towards the body.

I've also added to the Templates page all the new team jerseys that were introduced this season, and I will add any other jerseys (Winter Classic, etc) after they're made official.

See you later!

Double Wild

Hello!

My Ideal Minnesota Wild:
The Wild's road jersey has quickly become one of my favourite white jerseys in the NHL, so I kept it basically unchanged (the laces are different) and then altered their green jersey to be a better match.

New Look Minnesota Wild:
Since the Wild have used both red and green as their main colour in the past, I decided to create two jerseys that use red and green equally.  Both striping patterns are based off of their primary logo, the jagged lines on the home jersey are inspired by the logo's jagged outline, and the road jersey uses the trees from that logo.

By the way, it may be quite a while before I get to the next concept in this series (even longer than normal), but I continue this series at some point.

Goodbye!

Double Flyers

Has it really been 37 days since I last posted a concept for my NHL Double Series?  Yes it has, and that's much too long (sorry about that).  Anyways, here are the Flyers...

My Ideal Philadelphia Flyers:
I think the Flyers current jerseys are some of the best in the NHL, so I barely made any changes.  The biggest difference is both jerseys now use a white nameplate, so it only contrasts on the home jersey.  I also made the collar inserts the same colour as the rest of the jersey.

New Look Philadelphia Flyers:
The New Look concept provided a bit of a challenge, because I didn't want to use their normal sleeve design, but I still wanted it to fit the Flyers identity.  I decided to take their contrasting nameplates and make it part of the striping pattern.  I then made the end of those black yoke stripes match the shape of the wings in their logo, and did the same with the horizontal part of the four.

Have a good weekend!

Double Kings

My Ideal Los Angeles Kings:
These are a different take on the Kings current uniforms.  The piping is shaped like the yokes on their 1980-88 jerseys.

New Look Los Angeles Kings:
For the second concept I wanted to try a purple and white colour scheme.  The crown is from their 1988-98 logo.

Double Sabres

Hello!

My Ideal Buffalo Sabres:
My ideal Sabres jerseys are their classic jerseys.  The only noteworthy change I made was matching the hem stripe to the sleeve stripes on the road jersey.

New Look Buffalo Sabres:
For this concept I was trying to see if the Sabres "B/Sword" logo could work as the primary logo (I'll let you judge how well it worked).  I also brought back the Buffaslug as the secondary logo.

See you later!

Double Maple Leafs

I'd apologize for the amount of time since my last concept, but it seems I always take this long nowadays.

My Ideal Toronto Maple Leafs:
I don't dislike the Maple Leafs new jerseys, but they're not my ideal look for them.  If I was in charge, I would base the Leafs' jerseys off of their 1958-67 set.  I choose their new number font mostly just to try it out.

New Look Toronto Maple Leafs:
For some reason I had the idea to add giant maple leafs behind the sleeve numbers.  Then I added more leafs lower on the sleeves, and on the pants.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Maple Leafs Prediction

Toronto Maple Leafs:
I'm taking a quick break from my NHL Double Series for a Maple Leafs prediction concept.  This is my interpretation of the rumoured details posted on SportsLogos.Net.  The arm stripes are from the Leafs schedule release graphic.

Thanks for visiting!

Double Avalanche

Hello again!  I took a bit longer than I expected but I'm back with another concept for my NHL Double Series.

My Ideal Colorado Avalanche:
I don't know if this exactly is my ideal look for the Avalanche, but it would be something similar with a mountain striping pattern.  I don't think their current colour scheme is perfect so I used burgundy, navy, and a light sky blue instead.  The number font is from their current third jersey.  This is actually an update of an old concept of mine.

New Look Colorado Avalanche:
The idea for this concept started with the double sleeve stripes.  I then added a sublimated pattern, made up of the the C from the Colorado state flag, to the yoke area and back numbers (I was inspired by the national anthem design on Slovakia's Olympic jerseys).  I also wanted to use more black to tie into their black equipment, so I originally had the collar and cuffs (and hem outline) on the white jersey black as well, but I decided burgundy looked better.

Au revoir!

Double Oilers

Welcome back!  I've started a new NHL series with two concepts for each team, one concept is my ideal look for the team and the other concept is something new.  The Oilers are up first.

My Ideal Edmonton Oilers:
I didn't change much here, the biggest difference is a new collar design (which is inspired by their 1982-96 jerseys).  I also made the whole striping pattern a bit thicker.

New Look Edmonton Oilers:
For the second concept, I used an oil-drop shaped shoulder yoke, which droops down and contains the sleeve numbers.  The number font is also new, and I tried something different with the pant stripes.

That's all for now (by the way, it might be a while before I'm ready to post the next team).

Welcome and a New Template

Hello and welcome to the first post on my new blog Steven Grant Design, the place where I'll be posting all my future hockey uniform concepts.  I don't have any concepts to share today, but I do have a new template.

The new template, which I'm calling the Combo template, is a combination of the template used on NHLUniforms.com and the template from the Paint Users Paradise thread on the SportsLogos.Net forum.  On the Templates page, you'll find versions of this template for every NHL team jersey worn this season, as well as some additional blank templates and extra collars.
